Climate Change is Pushing Giant Ocean Currents Poleward

The world’s major wind-driven ocean currents play a big role in shifting heat around the globe, shaping weather conditions and supplying nutrients throughout the world’s oceans. Those currents are shifting toward the Earth’s poles, a new study found, with potentially dire effects on food supplies, sea level and weather in densely populated areas.
