U.S.-China Beef Deal Puts Higher Emissions on the Menu

China and the U.S. have reinstated their beef trade deal, which ceased in 2003. Beef consumption in China is rising, but has dropped worldwide. Livestock production already accounts for a third of greenhouse gas emissions, and this deal could increase U.S. emissions.
